    What Is Fatty Liver Disease?

Fatty liver disease refers to the condition of excessive fat in the liver. Another name for the fatty liver disease is hepatic steatosis. Consumption of too much alcohol can result in having one of the types of fatty liver. With time, the excess alcohol starts to form fat inside the liver cells, affecting the liver’s functioning. However, the condition can be treated by consulting a doctor for treatment of fatty liver in Punjab and also by opting for several lifestyle changes.

    Types Of Fatty Liver Disease.

Fatty liver disease has two main types:

    Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)

This type of disease is prevalent among people. About every out of 3 people are affected by this condition. The exact cause of the disease has not yet been found, but diabetes and obesity seem to increase the risk of being affected by (NAFLD). This disease does not take place due to drinking, like the other primary type.

    NAFLD has two forms:

    Simple Fatty Liver.

In this form of fatty liver, the liver does have excess fat, however, there is no inflammation or damage to the liver cells. This form of the condition does not get worse or cause any complications to the liver. In most cases, people who have NAFLD generally have simple fatty liver disease.

    Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH).

This form of fatty liver can be much more critical than simple fatty liver. NASH refers to the inflammation in the liver. The inflammation and the damage to the liver cells lead to pressing problems such as fibrosis and cirrhosis. These conditions are types of liver scarring and liver cancer and can result in liver failure, which may require you to get a liver transplant. About 20% of people have this form of condition who are dealing with NAFLD. The condition can be managed by getting treatment for fatty liver disease in Ludhiana.

    Alcohol-Related Fatty Liver Disease

This type of fatty liver disease only affects about 5% of the population and is not very common as compared to the other types of fatty liver disease. The consumption of alcohol causes it and can get worse with time unless the drinking is not stopped. The forms of ALD include:

    • Enlarged Liver: this form of ALD might not show any severe symptoms, but you might experience pain or discomfort on the upper right side of the abdomen.
    • Alcoholic Hepatitis: this form causes swelling in the liver that leads to fever, nausea, vomiting, belly pain and jaundice.
    • Alcoholic Cirrhosis: This can result in a buildup of scar tissue in your liver. It can lead to symptoms similar to alcoholic hepatitis and also:
    • Large amounts of fluid build up in the liver.
    • High blood pressure in the liver.
    • Bleeding in the body.

    Fatty Liver Disease Symptoms.

Usually, there are no symptoms caused by NAFLD and ALD. Some people may experience tiredness or pain in the right side of their upper abdomen where their liver is located, which can be managed by treating fatty liver in Ludhiana.

If you are affected by NASH or Cirrhosis, then you may experience symptoms like:

    • Swollen belly.
    • Enlarged blood vessels under the skin.
